Books to the Little Free Libraries

Hello,

Leroy and I have the same day off so we packed it full of things to do around here. This afternoon we trotted off to find those Little Free Libraries. Luckily I had addresses for most of them, but one was a bit vague so I had to call someone in the neighborhood for more precise directions. Aren’t those phones that go with us a wonderful invention? What would we have done in the past? Gotten the location more locked in before we left home, wandered around in the area putting on miles as we went up and down, asked someone that we saw in that area, or just gave up and moved on to the next possibility.

Those 31 books were a bit heavy, but of course the load got lighter as we went along. We were certainly generous with the first library that we found. It was also in need of a resupply so that was good. Each stop was a joy as we moved more and more books from our backs.
I could have done this on my own, but it would have required two trips to carry all of this.

We knew the person at our last stop. She was so pleased to see the assortment that we were leaving in “her” library as they touched on many African American themes. Some people were going to visit her the next day and she knew they would be excited to see them. I also asked her to take a picture of us. You can see it here.

What a blessing to our day, I just hope it goes on and on for others too.

Paula
