Fireworks and Bats

Hello, We took a walk to our favorite park hoping the hill would be high enough to see fireworks downtown. That was not so good. We saw quite a lot of fireworks with all the ones going off in the neighborhoods and in the park as well. At some point I noticed the bats fluttering around. Surely fireworks are not a good experience for them. They were flying around at random, but especially darting when the boom and the lights came. Do the other animals like fireworks? It seems they could feel quite uneasy with all of the noise. Squirrels in the trees probably have a much more stressful time than underground animals. Booms could be heard after we were in bed. That Leroy is a great sleeper so he was not very bothered. Our blackout curtains help for the light, but not the noise. Yesterday I used the oven which contributed to quite a lot of heat in the kitchen. It was okay because the bread was good as was the rhubarb crisp. Paula
