Shopping

Ely, IA

Hello,

Groceries were necessary. Oatmeal and bananas were out. That means life could hardly go on. I did get, as well, yogurt, brown rice, and whole wheat pasta. Then there were apples, oranges, and apple sauce. I could tell it was close to lunch time and I had not eaten my between meal snack because I succumbed to buying some corn chips. Generally I do not buy much that has been produced in a factory.

At this point I am trying not to buy much since we will again be moving in a week, but we have to get through a week. Do we need this or that? Who knows? Certainly my life is about not moving more than is necessary. Stores can just keep their things.

The plan is that maybe on Thursday we will take up, to the apartment, all the things that we do not need for the next few days. On Friday evening we will go to stay the night with Leroy’s sister. Early Saturday morning we will get the moving truck, load it, drive back to Cedar Rapids, and unload it. That night we will sleep in our own bed for the first time since the middle of September. Such a life we live. I would not have believed such a thing ten years ago. Now it almost seems normal.

At least I do not have to buy many other items. I have enough clothes and most of my supplies if I can just find them soon after we get settled. Did I put the right labels on all boxes? I probably did not, but on enough boxes, probably. At least you would hope that I have learned something about moving having done it so many times close together.

It is to be very warm here next week. I will have to think of something to do outside to satisfy my soul.

Paula
