Moving Tale

Hello,
This is going to be observations of the process of moving. Somehow my weak points are highlighted. I felt rather proud that Leroy and I could get our earthly possessions in a 10 X 15 storage unit packed to the ceiling part of the way. Loading it on the truck made me realize that we have way more things than we need as most of it fits in the want territory. One of the moving helpers commented correctly, “It probably isn’t always things you want, but things you do not want to get rid of.”
In spite of, or because of my angst about having enough room, getting it done on time, and rain everything went mostly as planned. On the loading end people did not come until nine, while Leroy and I were there by 8:30. It is almost like having a party and wondering before it starts if anyone will come. In good time we had plenty of great help. In the meantime Leroy and I were able to take out a lot of small odds and ends that would not go first in the truck anyway. Many of those things we do not need here because we do not have care for any yard space. Should we keep it, should we sell it? It is hard to know the answer. I am collecting a pile of things that we will not keep. Why did we move and store them? Values decrease with work associated with some items.
We have always been blessed to have a lot of help when we move. I am grateful that there are people who will do this energy producing and energy sapping job with us.
Leroy generally stays in the truck and directs where and how items are to be stowed. In the past he had worked for a moving company so he learned a few tricks. I helped move lighter items to the truck. That is not really a bad job. It gave me some time to visit with the other helpers. That is a lift for my soul.
