Lazy Weekend
Hello,
Yesterday Leroy and I had nothing planned so we washed some clothes, hung them out and enjoyed the fresh air. It was rather cool, but our walk was long and kept us warm. We both spent quite a lot of time reading.
I just finished Horse by Geraldine Brooks. Guess I must like race horses because this was about a horse named Lexington. Seabiscuit also took my attention when I read about him. Lexington was born before the civil war so he is much older. Someone at church said, “I have seen him!” when I talked about this book at book club. She saw the skeleton in Kentucky. Maybe some day I will see that too. This book also dealt with racism past and present. It was a thoughtful book but was easy to stick with it. It is a novel based on historical fact.
Leroy went to a stamp event that is sponsored by the stamp club that he has joined. He was pleased to get rid of some books that he did not need. He also bought some stamps that his collection was missing. This evening, he went and helped with cleanup so it was a good thing for him.
